Dr. Jana’s work focuses on understanding and meeting the needs of every member of the adoptive and foster family. She has counseled, studied, taught, trained, created, and researched foster and adoptive families for years, in addition to being a member of an adoptive family herself.

Taking what she’s learned, Dr. Jana has developed a new model that has proven effective for meeting the needs and improving the quality of life for foster and adoptive families. She firmly believes that connection and lasting change are possible when struggling families are provided with the right support, strategies, and skills.

In-Person Counseling

$175/hr

Dr. Jana offers in-person counseling services at her office in Franklin, TN. She is very down-to-earth and creates a safe space for you to share whatever challenges you are facing while offering practical support and strategies to help families find connection and lasting change.

Online Counseling

$175/hr

For caregivers and teens who are not able to visit Dr. Jana’s office, online counseling sessions are available via her HIPAA compliant web portal. Dr. Jana is able to provide counseling services to current residents of Tennessee, Texas, and Pennsylvania.

 About Dr. Jana and Her Clinical Approaches

Dr. Jana Hunsley is an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker), psychologist, TBRI Practitioner, and advocate for families in the adoption and foster care community. Jana received her Ph.D. in experimental psychology at the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development (KPICD) at Texas Christian University (TCU). She has written and spoken for the National Council for Adoption, the North American Council on Adoptable Children, Show Hope’s Hope for the Journey Conference, and more. She was also a professor in the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences at the University of Texas at Dallas. Read more here.
